The Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Opening Night Gala is always a highlight of the Australian comedy calendar.
Featuring a huge line-up of stars from stage, screen and the airwaves, the Gala is a massive event. The success of the gala festival has been so overwhelming that a change of venue from a conventional theatre to Vodafone Arena is necessary to accommodate all the glitz and giggles.
Proceeds from The Gala live performance and the national television broadcast on ChannelTen are donated to Oxfam Australia to support their projects around the world.
