The prestigious annual Melbourne Cup Carnival returns for 2007 with a two week celebration of high fashion, fine food and wine, glamour and celebrity and at the centre of it all, four days of world-class thoroughbred racing highlighted by the running of the $5.1 million Emirates Melbourne Cup.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival 2007 will be a fully ticketed event for the first time which means general admission tickets must be pre-purchased upon arrival at Flemington.
The four days of racing are:
AAMI VICTORIA DERBY DAY - November 3
EMIRATES MELBOURNE CUP - November 6
CROWN OAKS DAY - November 8
EMIRATES STAKES DAY - November 10
The race that famously 'stops the nation', the Group 1 Emirates Melbourne Cup, is run on the first Tuesday in November and is the centrepiece of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
