Seven city venues extending from Royal Exhibition Building and right along the Yarra River through to Docklands will play host to the largest free New Year's Eve Party in Melbourne.
Celebrations will take place at the Royal Exhibition Building (Western Forecourt) for the first time ever - a great vantage point for the midnight fireworks.
Entertainment will be provided by live bands, dancers and roving performers while family entertainment and children’s activities will also be on offer at Birrarung Marr, Alexandra Gardens, Federation Square, Southgate, NewQuay and Waterfront City, Docklands.
The celebrations culminate in a two stunning fireworks display, one at 9:15pm and the second on the stroke of midnight to welcome 2008.
