Old Melbourne Gaol

June 26th 2008 03:00
Old Melbourne Gaol

The Old Melbourne Gaol is the home to Australia's oldest prison, the historic Magistrates' Court and former Police City Watch House and offers Crime and Justice experience like no other.

As the heart of crime, law and order in Melbourne since the 1840s, the Old Melbourne Gaol has detained some of Australia's most notorious and infamous crime figures such as Ned Kelly and Squizzy Taylor.

Experience walking the road to the gallows in a 19th century prison or take one of many tours of the facility including the highly recommended Hangman's Night Tours.
