Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market is a famous landmark, shopping mecca and Melbourne institution with more than 600 individual retailers spread over seven hectares of floor space.

Serving customers and tourists since 1878, you will find absolutely everything and anything at the largest open air market in the southern hemisphere - last year alone the market attracted over 9.5 million visitors!

The market is open 5 days a week (closed Mon. & Wed.), with Sunday taking on a carnival atmosphere as a variety of entertainers delight the crowds.
