Tall Ship Polly Woodside

Tall Ship Polly Woodside

The Tall Ship Polly Woodside in Melbourne is a tangible reminder of Australia’s rich maritime history dating as far back as 1885.

The Polly Woodside is a three-masted iron barque with a main mast as high as a 10 storey building. Launched in Belfast, Ireland by one of the largest British shipbuilders, the ship made 17 trips to all parts of the world in less than 10 years, including South and North America, Africa and Australia, and rounded the infamous Cape Horn 16 times.

The ship enjoys the highest level of State heritage protection.
