The Amazing Human Body Exhibition
September 12th 2007 04:11
The Amazing Human Body Exhibition is currently showing in Melbourne as part of its nationwide tour.
The exhibition is a one of a kind educational experience in which guests learn about anatomy, physiology and health by viewing real human specimens, preserved through an amazing scientific method called "Plastination".
Plastination is a process where about 70% of the body (mainly fluid and fat) are replaced by polymers such as silicone rubber or polyester resin, using a special vacuum process. Using plastination, it is now possible to preserve natural anatomical specimens and even whole bodies. The results are durable, realistic and aesthetic and can be used for teaching and research purposes, and, as this exhibition demonstrates, for general education.
The exhibition is currently on now, showing at the Waterfront City Pavilion, Docklands Drive, Melbourne Docklands until the 1st of October 2007.
Now until October 1, 2007.
